3. LOCATION DATA USAGE

Location data is the core functionality of Speedometer GPS. Important points:

• Location is used only for speed and distance calculation
• GPS data is processed entirely on your device
• We do not store your location history
• We do not track your routes or movements
• Location data is not transmitted to any server
• When you close the app, location tracking stops completely

4. LOCAL DATA STORAGE

Your unit preference (km/h or mph) is stored locally using AsyncStorage. Trip statistics are calculated in real-time and reset when you press the reset button. No trip data is permanently stored or transmitted.

5. ADVERTISING

Speedometer GPS displays advertisements through Google AdMob to support free usage. Google AdMob may collect certain information for personalized advertising. You can learn more about Google's privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy.

On iOS devices, we request App Tracking Transparency permission before enabling personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings.

6. PERMISSIONS

Speedometer GPS requests the following permissions:

• Location (When In Use): Required for speed and distance tracking. The app only accesses location while you're actively using it.
• App Tracking (iOS): Optional, for personalized advertising

Location permission is essential for the app's core functionality. Without it, speed tracking cannot work.

7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Speedometer GPS is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

8. DATA SECURITY

Since all processing happens locally on your device and no personal data is transmitted, the security of your information depends on your device's security settings. We recommend using device passcodes and keeping your operating system updated.

9. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Our app uses the following third-party services:

• Google AdMob: For displaying advertisements
• Expo: For app development and updates
• expo-location: For GPS functionality (processes data locally)
